With experts around us (more precisely Dan's friend Earl at work), family to share in the work (and hopefully eggs), and a bit of property with some buildings, Dan convinced me to that having our own farm-fresh eggs one day would be worth raising baby chicks!

Thus began a lot of clean up and clean out work for he and Mathew and Dad to prepare and protect (ie: patch holes) a small barn room for 20 pullet chicks. We are looking forward to some family fun of collecting eggs in a few months, considering the wild animals who have seemingly inhabited the barn don't outsmart our barriers to entry!
