Little Josiah is our newest family member here at CVE. He arrived to campus on March 5. He is 5 days younger than our son Kaeb, but significantly smaller and severely malnourished. Little is known about his medical history, but he seems to be premature.
After a week of feeding and caring for him, hoping for him to gain weight, his caretaker Stephanie Bahr took him to Kaeb's pediatrician. Dr. Urbieta determined him to be in a severe state of starvation and gave them anti-reflux formula to stop his vomiting.
Last night (Sunday), Stephanie and Nicole decided to take him to a hospital in Hermosillo, two hors away. Josiah was admitted and he is currently staying in an incubator there. He can have visitors just 2 hours a day so that means lots of road time for his caretakers. He, Stephanie, and Nicole could certainly use your prayers!
*UPDATE Josiah will be incubated for approximately a month and the Hermosillo DIF (social service) will be taking over his care. Sadly this means, we will not get him back as they are a different jurisdiction than us. We do not know why God only let Josiah be a part of our lives for 9 days, but we will try not to question God and instead be appreciative of the opportunity we did get to help Josiah get the care he needs to live. We will continue to think of him and pray for his future and trust God to put him in the path of other Christian believers to disciple him in the way of salvation.
